A shitstorm of bad news sends out of work filmmaker Jimmy Lang (Joe Begos) spiraling into an out of control bender, during which he claims to have been abducted by aliens. Fearing they'll come back, he contacts his old friend Stiggs (Matt Mercer) to help him gear up for war. When the sun sets, the duo are thrown into a hallucinatory explosion of aliens, drugs, booze, and all out carnage. Joe Begos is back! And this time, he's brought his A-game with a drug-fueled, wall-to-wall frenzy that pulls no punches from the moment it begins. Channeling the hectic, chaotic brilliance of Jackson, Raimi, and other masters, Begos infuses his own unique tone and craftsmanship into JIMMY AND STIGGS. This film also showcases Begos's acting chops, delivering a physical performance that's part Keaton and a whole lot of Campbell. A wild and wonderful ride that truly deserves to be seen in the cinema with like-minded lunatics.

Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com The film is a slick wallow into a cranked-up, self-destructive headspace that frequently over-compensates for what it lacks in plot and character development with sheer vigor and volume alone. Rated: 2/4 Aug 15, 2025 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle It’s … boring. Rated: 1/5 Aug 14, 2025 Full Review Dan Scully ScullyVision If you’re not the type to be wowed by DIY craft, some of its charms may be lost in translation. But I also get the sense that if you’re the type to press play on this one, or to attend a screening, then you’ll likely find something to enjoy here. Sep 20, 2025 Full Review Jake Tropila In Review Online A total romp, delivering all thrills and no frills of splattery creature mayhem in a tight runtime. Sep 6, 2025 Full Review Joey Keogh Vague Visages Jimmy and Stiggs is a chaotic, ferociously gory and wildly inventive descent into madness that’s tough to shake, even once it’s all over. Sep 1, 2025 Full Review Joel Harley Starburst That Jimmy and Stiggs manages to sustain 80 minutes of this is impressive, and many will find their patience tested by the relentlessness of just about everything Begos chooses to commit to. Juandi I have no idea on how to describe this ride by Eli Roth. It’s funny, it’s messy & all over the place in the best way. It’s definitely for those with an acquired taste. Truly a trip on shrooms from start to finish. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/19/25 Full Review vernon c if you like crazy strange cult films you will dig this. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Drew This gem was shot on film with intriguing practical effects and is stacked with innovation and technique. It was great at the cinema and will be perfect at a house party. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Brian U it was crazy drug/alcohol infused hell ride. I liked it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Alex Real fun splatterfest , it’s cool Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/16/25 Full Review jasmin I don't rate movies, I can't even remember when or why I signed up for this account. That being said I'm a horror hound who appreciates everything from trashy garbage to high concept social commentary, as long as it's even vaguely horror related I'll give it a shot. Worst case scenario I have fun with how terrible it is and best case scenario it becomes a topic of dissection and critique for many a conversation after with anyone who's willing. This was my favorite movie this year, yes I saw a weapons, yes I saw sinners, both were excellent films that I truly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone but this movie was special to me in a way that's almost sacred. This film does not have a mind-blowing plot or characters that will stick to your ribs, but if you're someone who appreciates passion in the project this movie is for you. The selling point that made me come see it was that it was all practical effects and I do love a good practical effect I was not expecting this movie to have so much love poured into it. Every crevice and crack had thought and consideration, every shot and prop was made with care and dedication. It's funny to be writing this review because at the end of the day this is just a silly fun stupid horror movie. Even so while I was watching it I was in awe. I don't know how to describe it but I could just feel this wasn't some script someone picked up so they can add a credit to their IMDb or shot for some extra cash. This was somebody's baby and now it's mine too. I'm not sure if I'm recommending this movie, I can't honestly think of who I would recommend this movie for but it broadcast at a frequency that if you're the kind of person who would be tuned into it I'm sure you'll also hear a wonderful song you didn't know you remembered.
