Trippy gross visuals and makeup FX do its best to carry the day but the film just can’t get an emotional grip on its central couples and bails way too soon on their journey opting for a climax about getting sucked in which has been our problem all along.

Started off very strong with an engaging premise, but it’s like they didn’t bother writing a third act. Comes across as obnoxious and pretentious and ultimately was a complete waste of time.

Something really interesting from The 2024 Toronto Film Festival, this French and Belgian horror movie exemplifies everything that I love most about foreign films. Stunningly surreal visuals, with an original take on an apocalypse, pandemic movie, this is deeply philosophical film from Thibaul Emin, a director to watch, I think.

here's a simple rule for the director: if you want to be taken seriously, don't include AI artwork in your products. it's not just divisive but also financially shortsighted to use technology that is being boycotted by so much of the population. if nobody ends up watching or even liking your movie, maybe you can take a guess as to why
