Synopsis
This epic three-hour documentary chronicles the story of 12 Austrian-Jewish men and women who flee the Nazi invasion and travel to New York City. The film uses first-person accounts from the survivors interwoven with still photography of their lives before the crisis and their horrific journey. Since most of the survivors were children at the time of their exodus, the tales illustrate a shattering of innocence that makes the film as heartbreaking as it is harrowing.
