Critics Consensus

With a bracingly irreverent approach to its story and Emma Mackey bringing Brontë vibrantly to life, Emily is a biopic that manages to feel true while taking entertaining creative liberties.

Cristina 03/12/2023 An absolutely beautiful movie! See more Mr. Hollywood 03/10/2023 Not a bad movie but it doesnt do much. They took pieces we know of Emily and created a fiction story that doesnt offer an excuse for this movie to really exist. Its not exactly a fun ride to excuse the pointlessness either. Youre left with a movie that didnt do much while watching it or afterwards, if you can even remember you watched it. See more DS 03/05/2023 Nonstop maximum overwrought. And the sound design, elegant and perfect, with music as well as effects that only heightened the tension in scenes so beautifully conveyed with silent visuals of actors of great talent.
