An alien falls from the sky, friends see it and take it home... it grows in the garage they brought it to where their friend paints pictures of his lost daughter..... FBI some how know about it and they want a piece of it..... this thing grows and gets shot by the FBI eventually and out pops the dead daughter...... This was really stupid..... and dont understand how this got ANY funding by any means.... Really dumb take on asthma too..... Awful acting on top of it all.... Absolutely cringe.... See more P L. @plutes Nov 8 Character driven sci-fi, good acting, ALL the characters are believable. I liked the interplay between the friend group As well as between the two partners. Small film, relatively low stakes, nobody’s out to save the galaxy. Nice change of pace from the usual bombastic/fantastic manipulative/exploitative/melodramatic fare. Minimal special effects , just enough to tell the story. Although it is sci-fi and explores profound themes it is essentially a human story. The ending left me wondering, in a good way. I liked it. Like a student movie, only lacking the imagination and enthusiasm. Does my review contain spoilers? No, because there is very little to spoil. The British movie Cosmos (2019) was made for virtually nothing, and still has more heart and soul than this paltry offering. Luke Hemsworth is probably the one performance of the movie that at least elevates it to watchable in parts, owing to his not overacting with a less than stellar script. Bad editing throughout doesn't help, nor do obvious howlers such as a G-man scanning with a Tascam recorder, or a clearly non-magnetic wedding band being magnetically sucked on to the alien entity. In fairness, it kept me watching, in hope of a good twist or denouement - that never came. On the upside: it is possible Mystery Science Theater fodder. See more 02/09/2023 So bad it’s actually good. I didn’t see the ending coming. Interesting premise that, with a ton of rewrites and better acting/directing might actually make a decent movie.
