Audience Member directed by Stephen Fung ... oh well ... Karen Mok again ... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Like a true renaissance man, Stephen Fung writes, starrs and directs himself in triad-comedy Enter The Phoenix. Thankfully, the floppy-haired one leaves his pals Daniel Wu and Eason Chan with more screen time and the heavier parts. A good call, since Eason Chan is pretty funny when let loose in a comedy like this, and Daniel Wu can carry himself in any damn movie, even as flat out silly as this. Thanks to the obvious real chemistry between this bunch of old friends, Enter The Phoenix is a pretty decent watch, at least it's comedy bits, while action and story falters rather badly. Also, beware of pointless cameos from numerous HK-celebs and pseudo-stars. But, most importantly, Stephen Fung gets his social message across: gay people apparently make great triad-bosses too. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member LOL this movie kicks f'ing ass! the gay cliches and comedy hit hard and fast! great cinematography, energetic all-star cast with cameos, martial arts action, gen-x cops' fung d- irectorial debut has something for everyone! very fun! (= Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member If you manage to not throw a hissy fit over the "offensive" gay jokes prevalent in the film, it's actually an incredibly well rounded film. All flavours of humour spot the film, although it isn't without its more serious moments. The writing is very good, managing a great depth for the relationships between the characters as well as their own personal conflicts. The key actors pull their roles perfectly and the whole story flows entertainingly well, down to the last scene. The big fight scenes in the end are plain awesome in their execution, and for once the tricky camera work is pulled so it enhances instead of annoying. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Buenas secuencias de artes marciales y un tanto jocosa la maricada le da ciertos elementos divertidos Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A hilatious yaoi (gay) comedy, yakuza movie presented by Jackie Chan. Daniel Wu plays the gay son Georgie, of the First Brother yakuza Boss who was sent to boarding school as a child. When First Boss dies, his right hand men go to bring Georgie back home to become head of the yakuza. However georgie's best friend pretended that he was Georgie and the real Georgie was his right hand man... Allowing this to be, they return home and things get outta hand... with hilarious and dramatic results. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
