When Clay's (D.B. Sweeney) restaurant goes bankrupt, he finds himself at the bottom of the corporate ladder. Clay, who is 38 and has no office experience, is quickly discouraged after counseling sessions with Sam (Cedric Yarbrough) and a series of harsh job interviews. He meets others in similar positions -- Liz (Missi Pyle), a former Peace Corps volunteer who can't find a job, and Nick (Kurtwood Smith) a homeless man and voice of reason -- who help to guide him in the corporate battlefield.
