Bruce Bennett Spectrum (St. George, Utah) Issues with the script and a methodical pace yield what feels like a missed opportunity. Earnestness in filmmaking does not necessarily equal excellence in filmmaking. Rated: C+ Aug 9, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

Vickie I have relatives who were in the Willie/Martin handcart companies and have access to their journals. This is an honest depiction. I was so happy to see a movie which represented their true story. It was an emotional journey for me. Thank you to all those who worked to bring their stories to life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/03/22 Full Review Audience Member yikes. acting is flat, story is uninteresting and does too much telling, not enough showing. just couldn't sit through the whole thing. waste of time, unbelievable as well. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member this shouldn't exist Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Truely inspirational movie, encourages you to do more for others Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review spencer p Darin Southam, in the lead, is always entertaining to watch, which only helps the faithful intentions of telling these true Latter-day Saint stories, though the film still hits a few awkward dramatic (and romantic) notes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member They say it was based on the true story of a man who lived in the latter half of the 1800s. Kind of the biographical movie, but largely inspired from the real incidents rather than story from one man's perspective. The story narrates from the two sets of actors that they come together at the end. One from the Utah, American and other from British pilgrims. The theme was related to the religious and a man with the healing power. Few scenes are hard to accept as it makes no sense when it comes to the reality of life on the earth. As a fictional movie about human spirit it is a lovable movie and I liked it, but as a real perhaps no one buys it. Because it is like the adult version of what kids believe, Santa and fairies. It might be a B stream movie, but the quality was very good with the decent performances and great musics. The thing is, the true story and its logic totally demerged from my perspective. Who knows if you are a man of god, a religious type, then you may going like it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
