      Critics Consensus

The Ten Commandments proves that not even one of humanity's most enduring tales is strong enough to overcome a biblical plague of cheap-looking animation.

Ethan B What a terrible movie about Moses that my Mother forced us to watch. We could have watched Prince of Egypt. BUT NO... we had to watch this steaming pile of crap with some of the worst character models and animation I've seen. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/05/20 Full Review Audience Member I saw this more than once as a kid and quite enjoyed it. It's definitely more accurate than the original. And I never found anything wrong with the animation, either. It didn't bother me, at least. Definitely worth a watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The Animation is beyond awful and the voice acting is pretty average at best. But other than that not bad. Though definitely not in Ten Commandments or Prince Of Egypts league. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The Ten Commandments (2007) ?? Horrendously bad animated movie detailing Moses, Hebrews, destination at Mount Sinai, etc. Where's Cecil B. DeMille when you really need him!? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Boring and slow! Can't compare to the Classic Ten Commandments! $ave your money and skip this film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is amazingly accurate in the Moses Story. It follows the bible's account to the T. The animation was brilliant. I am astonished at the poor reviews this film has been given. I think that the animation was as best The Prince of Egypt film from Dreamworks. It did bother me a little to see no sign of Moses' family after his marriage but I don't think that was intricacy part of the film. The movie was telling the story of Moses and that it succeed. www.what-to-watch.com Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Steve Davis Austin Chronicle This is the inaugural film in a franchise of 12 feature films based on Bible stories, using a crude form of three-dimensional computer animation. One can only hope that the future entries in the series are better executed than this first one. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 26, 2007 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader It's like watching Max Headroom lead his people out of Egypt. Oct 19, 2007 Full Review Tom Keogh Seattle Times Ponderous but somewhat moving. Rated: 3/5 Mar 21, 2019 Full Review Mike Scott Times-Picayune Though it boasts a noteworthy cast, the film suffers from clunky computer animation that appears to be hinged on technology at least several years behind the curve.
