Laura L The story of the movie is based on fact. And the fact is that during WWII, Sobibor was one of the many concentration camps. But it was the only one from which the prisoners escaped. How they organized themselves? How many escaped? And what they did in life afterward? It's all in this must-see touching movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review steve d really powerful and uplifting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to watch this 2 hour and 20 minute for an assignment that was due at 11:59 and I started at 10:20 pm so I had to watch it on youtube at 2x speed to finish by 11:30. This probably means I missed many things like pacing, directing, tension, and acting performances. However I still enjoyed the movie. It's based off an incredible real life event so the story and payoff is pretty strong. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Hogan's Heroes this is not. The horrors of the Nazi concentration camps coupled with a prison escape. Proves that such a movie can be made well without all of the Hollywood glitz and gore. Quality acting and script, solid direction on a great set. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic movie -- better than any other WWII prison movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Very fine film, very moving and pulls the viewer into the narrative. It is historically and thematically important as well. Artistically, I appreciate the irony that the caged rabbits, which the S.S. make Jews tend so they can eat their Hasespfeffer (traditional rabbit stew), eventually prove their undoing, and the caged prisoners (for which the rabbits are a metaphor) overcome their passivity and arise to kill and escape their captors.
