12/19/2021 I had never heard of "Escape Me Never" before I happened to read about it in a list of movies from 1935. I had also never heard of the director or any of the cast members. By the end, I couldn't tell what the purpose was. I don't know whether it was supposed to be a romanticization of old-money gentry or a typical rom-com. Either way, it didn't do anything for me. There's a reason why it didn't win its Oscar nomination. Very dated movie. See more 11/13/2007 I love this movie because it makes you feel right along with the characters in it. I think it's neat that Ida Lupino did more than just act-- she became a director and a producer, and in those days that was pretty uncommon. See more Read all reviews
