Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter A familiar tale told with lyricism and sensitivity. Nov 29, 2016 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times A lovely, lyrical drama that follows the reunion of two young men who shared their sexual awakening as boyhood friends. Nov 17, 2016 Full Review Amanda Jane Stern Film Inquiry While the movie is not without flaws, its simplicity is elevated by beautiful cinematography and production value. Apr 7, 2020 Full Review Alexander Ryll Gay Essential The aptly titled Esteros takes the audience on a journey of sexual discovery, no matter how muddy that experience may often be. Sep 15, 2019 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti Otroscines.com Taking characters of a previous shortfilm, the director elaborates a valuable and sensitive look on sexual identity. Audience Member Just a wonderful movie. All the actors make it believable. Was sad when it ended as I didn’t want it to end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Val Q Such a beautiful film that deals with such real issues. Both the younger and older actors did amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/15/23 Full Review Mark M Heartfelt, poignant, culturally much different than American films obviously, yet at the core, the same issues. I could hear Guarani in some of the vocabulary. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Michael F A beautiful Argentinian film with wonderful actors and nicely filmed scenic locations. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review Matsuoka 9 achei a parte deles adulto pessima oq salvou esse filme foi eles mais novos aquilo foi legal de ve pq o resto dialogo ruim deles adulto totalmente sem química e o famoso filme pra ver uma fez sinceramente nota 4/10 so gostei dos atores pequenos pq os adultos sao ruim Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/22 Full Review Audience Member : Jerónimo (played by Blas Finardi Niz as a boy and Esteban Masturini as an adult) is the most seamless transition from a child to an adult that I have ever seen in a film. Every personality nuance is captured to perfection. Regardless of what anybody might feel about the subject matter? These performances were brilliant. A whole lot more goes into a film than actors and acting, but all else could be cut out and one could simply become lost focusing on the development and portrayal of this one character.
