Traveling to Germany in 1933, famed Hungarian writer Kornel Esti (Gábor Máté) reminisces about the last time he journeyed by train in 1903 to the Italian coast. Split into two story lines, the fun-loving young Kornel (Matyas Erdelyi) and the older man encounter the same characters, including a vivacious blonde (Kathleen Gati) with whom Esti had sex with for the first time as a young man. Through this fantastical journey, Gati muses on his cowardice over the years.
