After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott. Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie, and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

They are called classics for a reason. The reason i saw this again on the big screen is simply, it works. We don't see ET right away (shades of the shark in Jaws). When Elliot and E T become friends, we are right there too. The adventure and mystery keep growing until the action comes to a head and ET is reunited with his spaceship and John Williams music has made us cry happy tears several times over. The first time i saw this, i swear the sky was blue-er when i came out of the theatre. Well Done All!
