Audience Member A slightly less valuable film than Summer of Aviya, Under the Domim Tree is an unfortunately pedestrian treatment of life on a kibbutz that is unfortunately not terribly compelling. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Contrary to common opinion, I actually liked it much more then 'The summer of Aviya'. The ghost of the great war is much more visible here, among surviving kids trying to form a working kibutz. There are plenty of different reactions to moving into a new country and starting a new life as a teenager with difficult past, and the film portraits them nicely, even if turns out to be a bit too idealistic while doing it.
