Scott Tobias The Dissolve Overheard at the pitch meeting: "So what if The Terminator was like, um... a sexy lady in a red leather get-up?" "Sold!" Rated: 1.5/5 Dec 2, 2013 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) 'So this device of yours is horny as well as psychopathic?' asks Gregory Hines, cast as a military badass so self-assured he's nicknamed himself 'God.' Liam D This a shameless ripoff of 1984’s The Terminator but this Thriller has some 90s cheesy vibes and campy to make it a guilty pleasure fun Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Georgan G This was a darn good movie. The writing & acting were good enough to keep me interested every moment! Have no idea why it got bad ratings. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/09/23 Full Review kevin c Science goes mad once again as an android built to look like her hot maker, goes rogue and it's up to a special ops tracker played by Gregory Hines to find and stop her before she literally goes nuclear. This is a pretty decent action thriller and Hines is good in his role. Early nineties movie that feels like it's still an eighties movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member So bad that it is good. A classic! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member It's The Terminator without the intelligent plot. It's Species without the sex appeal. A mildly entertaining b-movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Eve of Destruction is a science fiction/thriller about a cyborg named Eve, which is designed as a bioweapon for the military. It's also been built to look like its creator (Renée Soutendijk), as well as programmed to experience her emotions. But when it suddenly gets loose and begins running amok, it's up to its creator and a military specialist (Gregory Hines) to either contain it or destroy it altogether. The story is the movie's main problem, which lapses in its logic constantly, but is carried well enough by its leads. Soutendijk is tasked with the job of playing the dual roles of both the cyborg's creator and the cyborg itself and does a decent enough job with them. Hines spends almost the entire movie angry about everything, which at times can get a little stale when you want a little more from his character. And despite the movie not being a commercial success, it's kind of stuck around because of its minor cult following. The movie certainly isn't perfect, but it has some fun 'cyborg on a rampage' moments to at least keep it interesting. You're never really bored while watching the movie, that's for sure.
