For all of its bucolic pleasures, Evelyn is like looking through the eye of a merciless storm, with Orlando's focus pointed outwards toward the untold millions of people who are struggling to endure this same predicament. Go to Full Review

[A] raw, unfiltered view of the fragility of family dynamics is exposed movingly, and sometimes comically, throughout. Go to Full Review

I was deeply moved by the simplicity of this gentle film and the courage it took to make it. It drew out my compassion for those who consider suicide as their only option, as well as the loved ones left behind. Go to Full Review

[Orlando von Einsiedel] has made a career out of exploring the raw, unfiltered brutality of war... But it is this new film, Evelyn, in which he finally addresses the most important, most difficult and definitive event in his life. Go to Full Review

A tough film to watch at times, but if it helps you think about someone in your life who either isn't here anymore because of suicide or might harm his or herself, it becomes a completely worthwhile watch. Go to Full Review

See more George C Oct 5 Your critic wanna be watched this moving documentary last night and had to pause from watching several times to wipe the tears from my eyes. The movie is about how hard it is to talk about the loss of a loving child or a grandchild. In this movie, the family lost her son to suicide due to schizophrenia . I so related to this movie because I too have lost both my darling daughter Barbara and my loving grandson Alfredo, (Barbara’s son), just four months apart from eachother’s passing. So I felt from my heart this family’s devastating struggle to “carry on” with life. This movie struck a nerve in me because I too struggle to this day to talk about my own losses with my family and even close frirnds. And I still find it really hard to even look at past photos of my lost loved ones. They say the test of a good movie is if you’re thinking about it the day after you’ve watched it and this movie has certainly passed that test, at least for me. If you watch it I recommend having a box of tissues nearby! George Cahill, with a respectfully shared opinion. See more Read all reviews
