Anita Gates New York Times Very little of consequence can be said of the film ... other than that it is quieter and more realistic than the Bollywood spectacles that are India's best-known movies. Rated: 1.5/5 Sep 1, 2004 Full Review David Blaylock Village Voice Bose shows depth when he deals directly with Xen's loneliness. Aug 31, 2004 Full Review Nell Minow Movie Mom The combination of genres can feel uneven at times but adds texture a rewardingly authentic sort of messiness that works well with the fantasy elements of the movie's plot. Rated: B Aug 1, 2004 Full Review Film Threat Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 6, 2005 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International A raucous, obnoxious mess of a film that tries the viewer's patience at nearly every turn. Sep 14, 2004 Full Review TV Guide The combined weight of narrative threads involving incest, suicide and murder eventually bog the story down. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 3, 2004 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Full of twists, Everybody Says I'm Fine, keeps the viewers' attention. The film reminds me of "Diva" in its flash and unexpected plot. Scarred by the traumatic deaths of his parents as he helplessly watches, Xen develops the ability to know the thoughts of his clients when he is cutting their hair. He tries to use his power to right wrongs and eventually loses it (or is cured) through justifiable violence. The look of the film is stunning, as set and lighting create a vividly colored fantasy of a salon. Direction is powerful, particularly in the repetitive motif in dealing with central clients. Filmed and set in India, most of the characters speak English most of the time, but it is aggravating for English-speakers when characters revert to what probably is Hindi. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member one of my all time favorites.. Rahul Bose and Rehaan Engineer do a fantastic job!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member A fascinating and unique story that gets absolutely muddled in the telling. This could have been brilliant, but instead is just a mess. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Showcases the mask worn by everybody who seem to be fine as they claim with their smooth talk. Only to find their tumultous emotions and complexities within their concealed untroubled demeanor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member An excellently scripted movie with great performances by all the actors! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favourites.. sheds light on the hypocritical p3 Indian-mumbaikar society. Or at least.. is a VERY valiant effort.
