      Audience Consensus

Evil Dead Rise's intense horror and inventive gore help make up for a so-so story that downplays the franchise's signature humor.

      B. Lewis Fun not to terrible movie. Not as nail biting as the first. Sloppy editing but I've come to expect it from a shock horror film (jump film). During those few truly jumpy scenes is where the film shined. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Sonya Not scary at all & 2013 evil dead did it best Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Anna V Excellent remake that left a touch from the older films. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/23 Full Review chelsea it was a good movie, but I would have liked to see more of the lake house scenario and a little less of the start of the thriller Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/02/23 Full Review Aresha J It was ok some jumpy parts but definitely not as scary as it could've been! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/18/23 Full Review Pedro The Evil Dead is clearly the scrappiest horror franchise to continually underdog it's way into horror fans' hearts. This latest entry shows us that new ideas are still possible while serving up some comfort food Splat-stick. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Hanna Flint Time Out It's not for the faint-hearted but for long-time fans and horror nuts, just sit back and let the blood wash over you. Rated: 4/5 May 1, 2023 Full Review Joey Shapiro Chicago Reader The first sequel in a full decade, this should feel like getting an Evil Dead reunion, but instead it’s more akin to a so-so tribute band. Apr 26, 2023 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) Evil Dead Rise provides blood by the bucketful without ever crossing the line into outright cruelty. Rated: 4/5 Apr 24, 2023 Full Review David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment Evil Dead Rise is certainly a throw back to the good old school style of horror and the result is a film that delivers what horror fans have been calling out for – good old-fashioned gore within a creative story. Rated: 4/5 Dec 29, 2023 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …whatever this used to be, it’s deader than dead now… Rated: 1/5 Sep 26, 2023 Full Review Dolores Quintana Dolores Quintana Evil Dead Rise is sleekly modern, emotionally gripping, and absolutely brutal, gory and appalling, but still fun. Cronin goes there and goes all the way. Sep 23, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
