Scott Tobias The Dissolve [Co-director] Weston was giving less-discriminating horror audiences in 1981 what he thought they wanted: Carrie with more gore, more beheadings, and all the Satanic pigs they could handle. Rated: 2/5 May 19, 2014 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills Eric Weston’s film isn’t necessarily “good,” but it is definitely out there, with some elements seemingly intended as satire, others not at all. Nov 27, 2023 Full Review Heather Wixson Daily Dead There's plenty of weirdness to the story of Evilspeak that I dug but I just couldn't get into a movie that does nothing but emotionally pummel its protagonist for the first 70 mins then doesn't give him or the audience a truly satisfying conclusion. Rated: 3/5 Jan 7, 2016 Full Review Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat A fascinatingly deranged horror flick, but also one that's really slow in its first hour. Rated: 2/4 May 27, 2014 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) I've said it before, I'll say it again: Clint Howard + satanic pigs = MOVIE GOLD. Rated: 3/4 May 20, 2014 Full Review Jeff Beck Examiner.com Evilspeak may provide a laugh or two, but it's too easily noticeable that there's just not much here, resulting in an empty film that feels stretched beyond its means. Rated: 2.5/5 May 12, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Jason W Firstly, why does everyone hate on the cute puppy? Poor little guy, I definitely didn't like what happened, spoiler, don't watch if you are an animal lover. The movie itself is really not bad, but the editing and parts of the audio are horrible, even for the early 80s, and there is a little too much male skin, and hair, plus some odd choice of scenes for me. However, it does have some great special effects and a pretty rad climax that makes up for the downfalls. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/01/25 Full Review Blu B So the editing, pacing, and acting is all subpar. The acting is so campy. The cinematography and music isn't bad. some tracks are better than others. The direction isn't bad either. It starts out pretty unassuming but the whole plot of a poscessed computer taking over a kid is just kind of crazy. Than it feels like stuff just happens at times too once he finds the book. They never do explain how the group of kids find out about the basement. But this is all kind of made up by the ending. My god....It's like Carrie on crack. It's just insane and crazy. There's no other way to put it. It's kind of satisfying, over the top, ridiculous, and just insane. There's no other horror flick ending I can think of with something simliar besides Carrie. Most should skip this and just watch the end on Youtube. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/07/25 Full Review Audience Member Classic Clint Howard horror film, what’s not to love Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/09/22 Full Review Audience Member It has not aged well and suffers from bad acting and dialog. But it does have some good kills and unintentionally hilarious moments. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/02/22 Full Review justin t A slightly slow film with a very strong ending. The ending/revenge is truly brutal. I was amazed with the credibility that this film had after I was expecting tat. Strong acting, good effects, well told story. The only complaints are that the first part is very slow and the death scenes seem a little unoriginal/repetitive and in slow motion. Don't really have that much to say about it. Overall impressive from what I was expecting. A brooding tale of revenge and the dark underworld that is hell! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review michael d Has its moments but also doesn't quite have its moments. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
