corkball Low budget indie and it shows. To credit Kevin Hart is EXTREMELY generous - he shows up for a brief scene and to collect his check apparently. The kludgy editing flashback stuff was annoy as heck, as were the lead characters. The female lead is deliberately meant to be the crazy psycho-chick stock character, and as such she really doesn't have any character of her own. She is the 'monster in the cave', so to speak. The male lead is supposed to be the protagonist, but he is so hopelessly passive that it takes all of his friends' prodding to get him to do anything. All that said, Exit Strategy is offbeat and quirky and has a few funny, relatable scenes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie acts as if dark skin black women don't already have a bad reputation. This movie portrayed every last one of them. While this is just a movie, they still result in very real consequences for very real DSBW everywhere. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The only exit strategy I should have taken was to not press play and it would have saved me from this disaster! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the worst indie films I've seen in a while. If you take a weak premise, a poorly developed story, idiotic characters and outdated sitcom jokes. Then you would have a movie at least slightly better than Exit stately. The premise is about a lazy bum who moves in with his girlfriend. After moving in he realizes he want to break up but still use mooch off of her. The trailer continued to market the lead character as likable but lazy. Unfortunately I saw nothing likable about him . The director must have told everyone else to overact to makeup for Jameel Saleem's dull performance. The directing and diverse cast were the only positives of this movie. Which otherwise lacks in plot, developed character, jokes, or coherence. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member So awful! Only kept watching cause I paid for the rental. The only bright spot was the brief appearance by Kevin Hart. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked this movie. The editing was great.
