V.A. Musetto New York Post Would that all death be so peaceful. Rated: 3/4 Oct 25, 2006 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times This earnest documentary about assisted suicide plays like a stodgy promotional film for the Swiss organization Exit A.D.M.D., which helps terminally ill patients end their own lives. Rated: 2/5 Oct 24, 2006 Full Review Ronnie Scheib Variety [Exit] makes a strong implicit case for a cause supported by a growing number of Americans. Oct 24, 2006 Full Review Eric Monder Film Journal International Even if it were all staged, Exit: The Right to Die would be a profound and moving experience. Mar 1, 2007 Full Review Ray Greene Boxoffice Magazine If the film's lack of emotionalism deprives it of dramatic energy, it also forces viewers to react to a highly charged issue intellectually and on the merits, rather than out of manipulated passion. Rated: 3/5 Oct 30, 2006 Full Review Lisa Rose Newark Star-Ledger It's not the kind of documentary that leaves you feeling like you've only heard one side of the debate, that certain unsettling truths have been tactically avoided. Audience Member This film was tremendously emotional & thought-provoking as it documents the decision-making & trials of people who have life-threatening illness & the volunteers who renders the "assistance", an argument that sits delicately on the fence regarding euthanesia (assisted suicide). Many of the scenes were very sobering; all leading to the finale, the purpose of which is to end the needless suffering of the sick individuals & thereby eliminating the burden on their loved ones. The film is not meant to be taken lightly & most people may find the subject very disturbing. Although this film is highly recommended, I also strongly caution that viewers decide wisely should they choose to watch this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
