Mitch C Starts out well, and the appearance of Danny Glover adds to the credibility of the script, but halfway through, it quickly flies off the rails in a cloud of silly plot twists. It becomes very difficult to keep suspending one's disbelief as this is so very....unbelievable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review Johnny H Plausability issues aside, it's a suspenseful, pulsating, gripping thriller!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review Tamara K I don't mind bad movies but I do mind stupid characters and these characters had the intelligence of a sack of potatoes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/27/23 Full Review ira m OK somewhat predictable but still filled with suspense, and another chance for Barkhad Abdi to be a bad guy. You got to love him. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/09/23 Full Review Tommy A SPOILERS INCOMING Like: realistic initial scenario being a unassuming and blissfully ignorant traveler. Dislike: TLDR: typical suspect suspenseful movie with dumb/ignorant protagonist. So many plot holes that any reasonable cognizant traveler would have paid attention to. Renting a boat you always verify starting process, understand common compass direction, HAVE A PHONE, and bring food AND water before leaving shore. Once they were stuck on the first island and could not start boat a decision was made to leave island to drift aimlessly with no food or water? No attempt to start a fire with gasoline and spark plug caps at hand. No attempt to distill water or drink seawater which can keep someone alive for a few days. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Ian W Another one of those films that starts off with an interesting concept. So for 15 minutes it was OK. Holiday trip turns into a nightmare as the rescuers become abductors. OK, fine to this point. Then the lead actor (a mild mannered doctor) turns into James Bond on steroids. Maybe he is a combination of James Bond and Dr Who? Cue stupid plot and totally unbelievable action. If you 'go with the flow', maybe it's watchable. The ending was stupid as you don't even know if our resident super-hero saves the lives of his wife and son. To be honest, by the end, I just didn't care. A mess of a film.
