Would have been great if they continued the same formula at the beginning. Somewhere in the middle, it lost the intelligence and twists. Somewhat similar to Ocean's trilogy but less finesse. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Ps a mi si me gusta esta peli!!!! será por que me encantan las peliculas orientales? ps no se jajajajaja Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the slickest Korean action/thrillers in recent years, unlike several other unfortunate examples, this also managed to be a box office hit. Combines the best parts of the "Ocean's" trilogy with Hong Kong's cat-and-mouse "Infernal Affairs" to produce Korea's equivalent of Michael Mann's "Heat". De Niro and Pacino obviously helped to make the latter a cult classic, the effectiveness here however wouldn't have worked without a sharp/witty script and more importantly two charismatic leads to assume similar mantles. Cha Seung-Won and Han Seok-Gyu play the incumbents, both characters multi-layered enough to have their respective inner conflicts come to the surface. Han who was a massive star in the 90s returns to mainstream films after a several year hiatus. Although his return received a mixed reception in the media, this manifests that he is still one of the best Korean male leads in the business, whether he's playing a tough cop or ruthless gangster. The interrogation scene of the transvestite is pure cinematic gold. Han Suk Kyu plays Baek, a detective ready to get away from the force when suddenly Ahn (Cha Seung Won) begins to put a master plan in motion to pull one over on the force and steal a bunch of gold. What follows is tons of police drama with car chases and clever tricks to fool those darn police agents always getting in the way. Great action and acting for those craving more of the police crime action/drama genre. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
