Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Even if the taut screenplay somewhat disappoints in the finale, Tilley keeps the visual aspects first-rate and never loses sight of what he has set out to accomplish. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 20, 2025 Full Review Karina Adelgaard Heaven of Horror It truly is some fascinating worldbuilding. Of course, a little more explanation for the character (or just more excessive backstory) wouldn’t have hurt. Rated: 3/5 Aug 11, 2025 Full Review Srijoni Rudra Digital Mafia Talkies Compared to contemporary horror, Eye for an Eye takes a more traditional route. The film thematically leans heavily on overused horror cliches, but its real focus, and perhaps the most effective element, is its surrealness. Is this hagsploitation? If it is, then more of this please and thank you! Mari E The cinematography matched the sweaty Southern scenery. The theme of the movie unpacked the potency and psychological effects of everyday violence and bullying, dipping into some interesting backstories. I thought Whitney Peak shined, and the dream sequences were my favorite – scary, weird and filmed in unexpected ways. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review M G Loved the style and story of this Southern gothic nightmare. The dream sequences were trippy and terrifying in the right way and the camera direction made it all feel right at the edge of reality.  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review Juanita K The actors were superb and one felt their fear, pain and hurt throughout the story. Tilley integrated complex mood lighting, on point scores and just the right amount of suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review Koku R Independent compact budget film but was a pleasant surprise. An entertaining horror flick. I liked it a lot. They did a good job building suspense and though the story was ok, the acting and scene set up was well done. Its going to be a good halloween season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review nikki T I normally don't like horror movies that tend to rely heavily on blood and gore, but in Eye for an Eye the director skillfully creates a subtle and insidious sense of doom that keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you like psychologic thrillers with more substance than usualI I highly recommend this film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/02/25 Full Review Henry O Instant new horror classic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/02/25 Full Review Read all reviews
