Synopsis
In the 1960s, Tom Zé creates a unique form of music that melds traditional song styles with contemporary political messages and flamboyant theatrics. Though he falls into obscurity in the 1970s, Zé achieves popularity in America in the 1990s after David Byrne, the singer of the Talking Heads, pioneers the re-release of his music. Riding high on a full-blown comeback, Zé continues to make his music and to tour, affirming his place in the pop music canon.
