Anton Bitel Sight & Sound the film is barely distinguished from other thrillers with visually impaired protagonists (Blink, Julia's Eyes, etc), and suffers from an over-obvious solution and some overblown melodrama in the final scenes. Nov 16, 2011 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Super hilarious. One of the funnier movies I've seen in a while, and takes itself so seriously that you can't help but burst out laughing in moments of supposedly heightened tension. Rated: D Jul 19, 2020 Full Review Kaori Shoji Japan Times If all of this sounds drearily predictable, it is my regrettable job to tell you that "Faces in the Crowd" walks that well-paved road of serial-killer suspense with a slow, deliberate tread. Apr 29, 2020 Full Review Scott "The Foywonder" Foy Dread Central For hardcore Milla Jovovich fans and Lifetime Network movie enthusiasts only. Everyone else can forget this face. Rated: 1.5/5 Apr 29, 2020 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...the novel premise and Jovovich's strong performance almost manage to compensate for the pervasively uneven atmosphere. John C Milla Jovovich plays a primary school teacher (I wish she was my primary school teacher when I was growing up, but that's a different story) who hears about one of those serial killers on the TV before she goes out. Then she goes out and ends up getting battered by the same one. In doing so she loses the ability to recognise people and has to, er, I forget. It was at that point I started doing something else. She goes to see an old woman/psychiatrist/doctor who coaches her like Obi-wan Kenobi in drag. Faces in the Crowd has got a nice premise behind it, plus Milla's not bad in most of what she does. Therefore it must find a certain amount of people out there who liked it. I just found it boring. There's only so many times she can see someone and not recognise them, only to find out it's someone she knows. Then, at just before the ninety minute mark, finally bump back into the serial killer and... I won't spoil it for you. You might want to find out for yourself. Then again, if you're a fan of Milla Jovovich, you might just want to stick on one of the Resident Evil films or the Fifth Element. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/25 Full Review Amy C This is a terrible movie. If I could give it a 0/5 stars I would. Nothing in this movie is even remotely believable. No one has common sense and every character makes the wrong decision under every circumstance. I understand "movie logic" and allow some silliness but it just got ridiculous. I found myself hoping that the serial killer would win just so the stupid heroine could learn some common sense and heaven forbid, arm herself instead of waiting for a man to come and save her. Overall, this movie stinks worse than an alleyway in Mumbai. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Kunal R Agreed that an accident caused her to see changing faces but does it also changes the voice and body gestures which she was unable to make out... I would not recommend anyone to watch this movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Vlado H While watching this movie it occurred to me that we should have not only the B movies but also a C category. This one would qualify. At times it felt like parody on thrillers. Other times I was wondering what made the producers to put money into such embarrassing script. Couldn't decide if I should laugh or roll my eyes. Nonstop collection of silly clichés that would probably work better as a comedy/parody instead of taking itself so seriously. B movies can be entertaining in their silliness. C movies test audiences' patience. I gave it two stars because this one managed to compel me to stay and watch it to its predictable ending. Or, was it Mila that made me to stay? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/06/24 Full Review Emilliano Jr S Another predictable thriller from Jovovich's resume. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Proven that you don't need ghosts or spirits to scare you off your socks. Milla is so talented & gifted in convincing your mind so messed up lol... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
