M W Really sweet film, it surprised me that it was so good. The actors are incredible, the pacing and cinematography are great too. Really recommend if you want an uplifting lgbt+ film!! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Fleur P This is an absolutely beautiful, quiet film full of nuance and sensitivity. Much better than more recent films about the same subject. Wonderful acting, writing and direction, no way you'll have dry eyes at the end. Highly recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review marcelo f The various approaches that the film brings, shows how simple and true the script is. From beginning to end you hope that James will leave the parallel world that the Church created during his boarding school and be moved by the unfolding of the story with Charlie. Super ideat for lovers of simple love stories. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Joel K A sweet portrayal of a teenager whose father sends him to a Christian sexual conversion camp. It demonstrates the torment of trying to change one's orientation. This is why several states have banned the conversion practice. So instead of ending in a potential suicide, we have a happy ending with all the main characters stepping up to reality. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/07/20 Full Review Audience Member This movie's plot is so relatable and is realistic and timeless. It was an overall adorable movie that was very uplifting at the end, but my only wish is that the movie elaborated more on the deceased mother of James (the protagonist); what happened? What was her husband (Rich) like while she was alive? I also wish that the disturbing experience of conversion therapy in contemporary times was emphasized more. But overall, a wonderful, heartwarming LGBTQ+ film, and a definite must-watch in my book. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting movie about an injustice, but the acting wasn't as good as I had hoped. I'm always more tolerant of LGBTQ films, but this was a bit of a struggle to watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times It's a testament to Jack Bryant's lovely script and Kerstin Karlhuber's thoughtful direction that this controversial concept is handled with such even-handedness and grace. Dec 21, 2022 Full Review Amanda Jane Stern Film Inquiry Although it occasionally has pacing problems and loses some steam in the third act, it is ultimately a well-done indie film. Jun 3, 2021 Full Review James Wegg JWR Joining the circus of life Rated: 4/5 Mar 21, 2017 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International The chance, especially in these newly troubled days, to address an important, disturbing subject-sexual-conversion therapy-is completely blown by bad writing and direction.
