Peter Keough Boston Globe At a time when many disparage and reject refugees from war and oppression, "Fanny's Journey" is a reminder of the virtues of decency, compassion, and innocence. Rated: 3.5/4 Sep 7, 2017 Full Review Alissa Simon Variety While the entire cast acquits themselves well, the impressive, nuanced camerawork by Pierre Cottereau (who also recently shot Christian Carion's WWII drama Come What May) is the film's strongest technical asset. Feb 14, 2017 Full Review Cate Marquis We Are Movie Geeks Fanny's Journey is a polished, inspiring true story drama well worth seeing, as a remarkable example of the bravery and resourcefulness of children. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It could have been good. but something is missing, Sometimes hard to understand, hard to follow, hard to explain. You have to guess, and most of the time you are right. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Alexandra H This movie kept me on the edge of my chair. The children are a joy to watch. A heart-warming story, beautifully acted and created. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/18 Full Review Sheldon O Although the language spoken was French with English captions, the film was easy to understand, the acting was superb by all including the children, the script was based upon a real story during the holocaust and appeared quite realistic, the suspense was intense, the music blended in well, the scenery and photography were beautiful, and the outcome was quite inspirational. Anyone who is unfamiliar with Nazi racism needs to watch this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/18 Full Review Audience Member 11/30/17 Netflix This was a wonderful film. It is amazing the small children could act so well. You felt their fear, desperation, friendship and joy. The girl who portrayed Fanny was also outstanding. Every time I watch a movie with this theme I am amazed at the courage of people trying to survive such terrifying times, the heroism of people willing to risk their life to help others who are not friends or family and the barbarism of the German army. This is a movie well worth seeing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/17 Full Review Audience Member Beautifully touching story Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
