Transported to an alternate universe, four young outsiders gain superhuman powers as they alter their physical form in shocking ways. Studio interference derails it, especially in a rushed, generic third act. The villain feels tacked on, pacing falters, and character arcs get shortchanged, leaving a disjointed mess. It lacks the polish of MCU hits, but the cast’s effort and Trank’s early vision keep it engaging. Fantastic Four is an uneven experiment that’s better than its infamy but falls short of its potential.

Overall very disappointing and not a well constructed film. I wasn't really offended by it, moreso just unengaged throughout most of it (the last thing a super hero movie should be is boring!). The pacing is way too slow and by the time the movie sets anything interesting up, it is pretty much over. There is WAY too much exposition. This is definitely the biggest issue with the film. The only action scene is really the final fight, and even that is a letdown. There is a lot of potential here but it fails to make any excitement or splash. The first 45 minutes to an hour presented some interesting ideas but they do not really lead to anything fullfilling. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch this one, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. I'm just moreso puzzled by a lot of the direction and choices made. It is truly a bizarre film.
