A modest yet amusingly spiky round trip from Manhattan to Martha’s Vineyard, it has the trappings of a rom-com but a trickier soulfulness about its unlikely connection. Go to Full Review

The top-to-bottom cast of proudly eccentric actors ... ensures that every scene has moments of truth, and the filmmaker’s empathy pushes the movie over the finish line. Go to Full Review

Amanda Peet fans rejoice! This tale of broken connections returns this acting sorceress to films, after 10 years, playing an aging star out to restart her career and her love life. She’s funny and fierce in all the right places. Go to Full Review

Amanda Peet gives one of her best performances amongst a strong cast in a film that avoids taking us through sitcom cliches in favor of characters with believable neuroses. Go to Full Review

“Fantasy Life,” written, directed and starring Matthew Shear, has moments where it shines. Shear’s own personal story, mirrored in the character of Sam, is muddled in the telling but helped by a very gifted cast. Go to Full Review

Colleen F 15h Heartwarming. Ended strangely. See more Brian B 16h This movie was an exercise in pointlessness. My wife and I wife still cant figure out what it was about. It wouldve been a good movie of the week in 1980. Fortunately, we only paid four bucks as a friend gave us a Fandango gift card. Thank you, Fandango! The acting was good, but there was no plot. See more Ali 2d Clever and natural emotions. So much body language doing the acting. So real and refreshing. Funny and endearing. -reality-infatuation into silver linings See more Martin-Melissa G 3d Well acted and filmed. The script wasn't sure what it wanted to be. Two folks lost, but neither a resolution at the end nor a debatable suggestion at different paths it could have been. Fine to not have a "Hollywood" ending, but didn't have a well thought to "Indy" ending either. Appears to have no arc at the end. The last few scenes at the end fell flat. Really close swing, but was a "miss" for us. See more SJW 3d Funny, touching, real. See more Jill H 4d Good cast but the story was neither interesting or inspiring. Who needs another story about a dysfunctional Jewish family? It should not have been released during this climate of anti-semitism. See more Read all reviews
