Russ Meyer's cult favorite follows sadistic go-go dancers Varla (Tura Satana), Rosie (Haji) and Billie (Lori Williams) as they break free from the nightclub where they perform and race out to the desert to stir up a little mayhem. After karate expert Varla kills an innocent man, the voluptuous trio takes his girlfriend (Susan Bernard) hostage as they attempt to wheedle a hidden fortune from a misogynistic old man (Paul Trinka) and his muscle-bound, brain-damaged son (Dennis Busch).

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is undoubtedly shlock, but director Russ Meyer's infectious affection for camp gives this anarchic joyride exhilarating flair.

A little Meyer goes a long way, but this is one of his more coherent and -- in a peculiar way -- restrained essays in trash madness. Go to Full Review

Although the plot is risible and the acting Cro-Magnon, the film is brilliantly shot, throbbing with raw energy and skewed humor. Go to Full Review

Some good performances emerge from a one-note script via very good Russ Meyer direction and his outstanding editing. Go to Full Review

Sep 13 Not much to like, story about a bully turned greedy killer. Almost impossible to like. The friend could barely get a sentence out in english. The blonde and young girl were the dime pieces, definitely highlight of the movie. Found the lead character odd to look at and sloppy. Poor acting and cheaply made, typical ending. Way overrated waste your time on other grindhouse films and skip this one. Looks more like a release in 1947 movie is about 20 years behind its time if not more. See more Nick O May 28 Fast cars, switchblades and bad babes! Enough to make your lame boyfriend too scared to even go in the theater! See more 05/25/2024 The movie is mediocre, possibly worth a rewatch. The main theme in the intro and outro is very catchy and I’d love to hear it remastered. Good performances, I just feel like it could have been better. See more Stefano L 05/18/2023 I agree with John Waters: "This is the greatest motion picture ever made!!" See more Tom K 03/15/2023 I don't think there has been a film since that has featured a female lead in the way Tura is here. A simple story but what a powerful character. See more William L 07/12/2021 Pure exploitative film, raw fetishism of everything that America considered salaciously taboo in the mid-20th century; powerful women in form-fitting outfits, gratuitous violence, fast cars, and free sex. It's visceral, gaudy, and often silly, but that doesn't necessarily make it worthless. It's pulp in a way that fully embraces the genre identity, there's not an ounce of pretension or the sense that it's masquerading as something 'legitimate' that happens to embrace racy elements. Though I have my doubts that it was done to appeal to socially conscious moviegoers by making a powerful statement on gender identity, Russ Meyer certainly knew exactly what he was doing by playing against norms, framing his female characters in powerful positions and intentionally conflating male and female roles. If Douglas Sirk made soap operas into social commentaries, then Meyer did the same with exploitation films. Meyer just had more fun with it. (3.5/5) See more Read all reviews
