A bland but good-natured adaptation of the cartoon show.

Brianna B I remember really liking this movie when it came out but revisiting it recently it's pretty bad. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Kazall R When the only highlight is the animation style of the cartoon dimension you know that movie is that poor. Fat Albert is a dry, tedious, underdeveloped kid-friendly comedy is little-no charm for the original cartoon. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Damon A Fat Albert the movie is utterly ridiculous but overflowing with joy. I had a smile on my face the whole time. The casting was excellent, and I loved it everytime the gang broke into a song or dance. The film is total fluff, but it delivers on the promised good time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/12/23 Full Review Ash P Honestly, watching it again after nearly ten years this had been out and well, it's your average bad. The movie is faithful to its source material with the moral and the messaging as the show does. Give Kenan credit that he plays a good Fat Albert, the rest of the cast are either a hit or miss and honestly, had some good laughs as this is a comedy. A couple of interesting points but the script wasn't that great especially having to bring in a love interest subpar which doesn't fit well. This movie could work well for young kids and maybe for those who grew up with the show, and before you ask, no, I didn't grew up with the show, sadly. 4/10. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Think this is a fun movie for what it is, but I think it has so many problems with the storyline and the development of the character that it just gives you a boring aspect the entire time. I think it has some comical moments that just land and some comical moments that just do not fit. I think ultimately at the end of the day this is one of those films that live on forever as a film that you watch just randomly, but it's not a film that you would put in your top 10 or even top 100 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Turner B fat albert is one of the movies of all time so much that I watched it again in 2022 it is definately has replay value. Time Out A lot like the comedian's best work: amusing, appropriate for kids, and far more spiritually nourishing and less insulting than typical Hollywood fare. Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Cosby cartoon comes to life in tween-centered story. Rated: 3/5 Dec 24, 2010 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader At the end of this weak comedy is a strange and touching scene in which Bill Cosby and his childhood pals from Philadelphia, now elderly men, gather at the grave of Albert Robertson, the real-life inspiration for Cosby's bighearted Fat Albert. May 20, 2008 Full Review Brandon Collins Medium Popcorn This is the first time in a long time I wanted to tap out of a movie. Nov 15, 2019 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed A bad movie, but I've seen much worse. Apr 29, 2009 Full Review Cole Smithey Daily Radar Director Joel Zwick ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding") helms this redundant and distinctively shabby movie that wasn't even filmed in Philly.
