DanteCarterDC32 Literally a movie to just sit back and laugh at. A true comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/06/23 Full Review JCJ D A decent comedy. I'd watch again Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/23 Full Review Ahmad M Fair summer comedy, could've done better and less crap-like. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review r n It's funny. Got number of good laughs out of it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/24 Full Review cory e It's not Avatar, and it's not Goodfellas, but for what it is - a goofy little comedy with weird characters and a young-love story - "Father of the Year" was a pleasantly harmless bit of fun. David Spade playing a dirtbag is always going to work on some level, and the supporting cast and physical comedy worked up a combination that was at times sincerely charming and straight-up hilarious. Don't turn your nose up at the prospect of an entertaining flick - we can't all be fans of Casablanca and self-important irony. The online reviewers falling over themselves to try to out-dismiss this film is a solid reminder that living in your parents' basement and asserting your superiority by trolling basic entertainment continues to attract the predictable level of smug, unimaginative elitism. Give this one a watch, and give yourself the freedom to laugh at silliness - hey, it's Netflix... it's not like you paid extra for it! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Paige J This movie has absolutely no plot and sixth grade humor. It wasn't funny, and I was wondering when the climax of the plot was the entire time. Then, the movie ended. I was confused. Plus I don't know why it was called Father of the Year because the whole dad situation seemed like a sub-plot and not the entire focus of the movie. Although, that's ironic for me to say because I don't even know if the movie had a focus. I was not impressed. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/24/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Glenn Kenny New York Times A lot of third-tier Farrelly-brothers-influenced gross-out humor. Aug 3, 2018 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com You won't hate the experience of watching it, but you'll forget you saw it before it's even over. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 20, 2018 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews A typically underwhelming Happy Madison production... Rated: 2/4 Jan 20, 2019 Full Review Louisa Moore Screen Zealots I suffered through this movie so you don't have to - unless you really, truly feel like wasting ninety minutes of your life. Rated: 1.5/5 Dec 22, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Graceless and woefully inspired, adding another bomb to Spade's cratered filmography, also triggering a distinct desire to never see another Tyler Spindel picture. Rated: D- Jul 26, 2018 Full Review Renee Schonfeld Common Sense Media Raunchy, lowbrow disaster with cursing, slapstick action. Rated: 1/5 Jul 25, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
