Kyle Smith New York Post One of the schlock studio's intentionally bad movies that succeeds a little too well. Rated: 1/4 Feb 10, 2012 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com I'd take it over many of the high-profile attempts at grindhouse horror and it's even more remarkable when one considers that the legendary company gave Astron-6 $10,000 to make it. I'm slightly terrified to think of what they could do with $10 million. Rated: 3.5/5.0 Feb 9, 2012 Full Review Naila Scargill Exquisite Terror Has everything one could desire of a daft evening's entertainment, from sibling incest to a meeting with the Devil/God himself. Feb 28, 2019 Full Review J Hurtado ScreenAnarchy This is the kind of film we all expected to see inside all of those VHS boxes with the fabulous artwork. Nov 6, 2017 Full Review Scott Weinberg FEARnet A sick and twisted horror farce made for a very specific sort of movie geek. I'm one of them. May 24, 2013 Full Review Bill Gibron PopMatters Father's Day proves that, when he's not making masterworks, (Troma's Lloyd Kaufman is) quite capable of finding fresh examples of same. Audience Member A rape/revenge flick which maybe tries to be pointgent (or maybe just ironic) by making the victims to be males. The movie's protagonists are a convicted murderer, a priest, and a gay streetwalker who seek to kill a homosexual serial killer. The film is total trash and contains lots of gore, violence, and nudity. The music is pretty good and fits with the "homage to 80s exploitation" mood of the whole film. The storyline was too loopy, the humour didn't really land for me, and the Satanic coven-leading antagonist was much too gross for me. The final scene was the best, especially the twist with Lloyd Kaufman's character. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Man oh man... talk about bugnuts! Such a fun bit of insanity. It's an absurd throwback in the style of Grindhouse, that just has zero restraint. I was rolling with laughter throughout. This is going to get played several times for me, probably as a double bill with Hobo With a Shotgun. This is the best kind of depravity. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/05/20 Full Review Audience Member Easily the best movie to pop out of Troma Entertainment in quite some time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This is dark, whimsical creativity and love for its predecessors at full tilt. Watch a couple hundred 70/80s sci-fi/cop/horror films so you can watch this one. Well worth it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Troma again kicking some butt! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The rating on this one is because of how much I enjoyed it. Two scenes in particular are probably more than most people can handle, but you're watching grindhouse horror flick - who cares! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
