Synopsis
Located in the Pico Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, Hoover Elementary is a school where 90 percent of the students are originally from Mexico or Central America, speaking more than 30 different languages among them. Following the passing of Proposition 187 in 1994, however, many of these students find themselves at risk of losing their right to education. This documentary examines the divided opinions on issues like bilingual studies and the rights and legal status of illegal immigrants.
