Inkoo Kang Washington Post So much of the trilogy is dedicated to expositional scenes laying down the foundations of Shadyside's history, there's too much that's admirable in theory and flat on screen. Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com As love letters to 1970s and '80s slashers go, this is one of the best I've seen outside of 2015's The Final Girls. Rated: 3/4 Jul 26, 2021 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Pajiba Compared with 1994, in 1978, the kills were more shocking, the atmosphere more tense, the characters more believable and well-rounded, and the world-building more thoughtful. Jul 24, 2021 Full Review Jennifer Bisset CNET Of course, there's some classic R.L. Stine twists that keep you guessing until the very end... Mar 31, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies As for “1978”, it manages to be both nostalgically transporting and needlessly irritating. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 17, 2022 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage A homage to '70s slasher horror films full of gore and carnage. [Full review in Spanish] Jul 21, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Tyler P The superior film of the Trilogy, 1978 is a skilled reworking of old slasher inspired trope and influence, a second act that should have other second acts taking notes, the themes of the movie that were definitely hinted at in the 1st film are solidified here, and despite what you may think about the style and casting in these films potentially nodding too much towards Stranger Things, the films manage to be very much their own despite sharing platforms with the aforementioned series, particularly in the case of 1978 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Mx S All 3 of these movies are perfection. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review cinema f “Find the Truth.” It gave me Friday the 13th vibes and I’m here for it. Sadie Sink was amazing in this film, she’s amazing in horror I hope to see more of her in future horror films. I’m mad they killed Alice and Cindy. 5/5 stars. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review Xavier T Definitely Recommend It Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Justin Ace V This is better than the first one tbh. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review Gianvito A To be honest it looked like they tried to copy Sleepaway Camp but all of the sudden it's an ok movie nothing more Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Read all reviews
