Eight women attend a bachelorette party at a remote farmhouse in the California hills. They are interrupted by the arrival of masked intruders who surround the place and begin shooting arrows at the home and the guests. One partygoer--Tess, a military veteran who is fighting her addictions and her difficulty at fitting in with other people--leads the women in making a stand against the attackers as they fight back in an effort to save themselves over the course of a single dark night.

There are worse films about both female badassery and tormentors getting their just desserts...but there are also way, WAY, WAAAAAAAAY better films about these themes too. The script and likely direction are to blame, as the actors are acting their poor little hearts out (in some instances too hard, but these are relatively minor) - the lead however is written in such a way as to make one sorta hope the venerable evil 'good ole boys' at least get a few good licks in, even if they don't win - not because the character is female, but because she's so bleeding annoying to friends and random people alike...the character is also a magat however, so maybe just let the good ole bad boys just finish'er off...

This movie may not work for the people it mocks but it definitely works for those of us who have had to endure them. If you like Fear The Night, you may also appreciate Big Driver (2014)

Bit of a mess, didn’t make a lot of sense. Why didn’t they all just run out the back door in different directions? And the epilogue was unnecessary and clunky. Still entertaining enough so it gets two stars

Utterly awful. A stupid story, unbelievable characters, cheap effects and routinely over acted. The attempt at a “female power” theme fails completely. It’s a waste of time.

Maggie Q (Tess) always has the best character which is why I'm glad she's the lead but other than that, this movie really isn't worth it, from flat characters with zero common sense to just okay writing. Kat Foster (Beth) has one of the worst characters which has you hoping for the whole movie that her character dies.
