      Critics Consensus

As frustrating as a 404 error, Fear Dot Com is a stylish, incoherent, and often nasty mess with few scares.

Nathaniel C Tbh, im kinda neutral to the movie, its okay in my opinion, but if you guys hate this film, please always respect my opinion, and ill always handle yalls back :-) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/12/23 Full Review colin m Confusing horror movie that didn't really satisfy. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Andre G This was your 1st attempt at an online scary movie. It's a ok movie. More like a suspense movie then a horror film. A website that kills you if you visit it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/16/23 Full Review Kyle M It's going to be a mess if you chop disorderly with imprecision onto what's been given or done. This aimlessly creates an incoherent style dampening the expected/envisioned results the formula structured. There's a beneficial style the film tries to tackle but failed in a cheesy matter when nonsensically turned out messy by squandering the prepared ingredients but realized too late amid the climax delivering a satisfying payoff plus decent ambiguity. If the title and marketed plot draws you in promising a potential horrific thriller, best to learn now is to be very observant of the dated briefly peeked style behind an obviously-diverted title. If tempted, you'll find a better coded site than the glitchy, buffering void. (C-) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/10/22 Full Review Audience Member William Malone can produce a nightmare-fueled monster. That monster is FearDotCom. The story doesn't make much sense nor does much else. However what can be said is that the style is persistent, strong and one of the main characters of the film. Try watching it just for the atmosphere and you may not be completely disappointed. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Massively underrated movie with an original, albeit heavily Late 90s/Early 2000s plot. It reminds me a lot of Japanese Horror with an indiscriminately vengeful ghost and a psychotic killer: it was clever, refreshing, and interesting. Issues with the writing come from Josephine Coyle and Moshe Diamant, people who seem not very familiar with writing and supernatural horror. This movie definitely needed more exploration into the nature of the ghost's revenge BUT it is good fun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Barbara Ellen Times (UK) William Malone's FearDotCom is one of those hopelessly muddled horror movies where you end up feeling more disturbed by the incomprehensible plotting and lurching camerawork than anything unfolding on-screen. Jan 3, 2018 Full Review Jami Bernard New York Daily News The story is a mess, some of the images offensive, the acting under par and the dialogue silly. Rated: 1/4 Jul 23, 2014 Full Review Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel The pity is that there's an interesting thriller buried inside this concept. Jul 23, 2014 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News FearDotCom takes itself way too seriously, ultimately adding to the film's dreadfulness. Nov 15, 2019 Full Review Alan Jones Radio Times The real torture in this vengeful cyber-spirit saga comes from having to sit through such ugly trash. Rated: 1/5 Jul 23, 2014 Full Review Steve Newton Georgia Straight I figured feardotcom was gonna be bad news when I saw the trailer and noticed it was promoted with the line "From the director of House on Haunted Hill".
