Joseph is obsessed with old tapes of a TV chef, who was seemingly his mother. However, he is a mysterious character who lies and steals from Felicia while putting on a friendly face. I didn't find "Felicia's Journey" as creepy as other reviews suggested, I mean that the story is not absurd and not so difficult to pin down after half a movie, but for sure Bob Hoskins does a great job in his character. That is what makes the film pretty good. Slowly you will brought in his mind, and that is the main fascination of this journey.

A gripping look into the mind of a serial killer with a riveting performance by Bob Hoskins and adroit direction by Atom Egoyan. Elaine Cassidy gives a touchingly beautiful quality to a film that shows the human need for love and companionship as the motive for horrendous crime committed by a man with a fragile psyche. Can a film evoke chills and sympathy for the same character? This one does, and does it successfully.

Not only is this complex & creepy 90's thriller worth watching , but the DVD's audio commentary by director Atom Egoyon actually enhances the film after you've watched it

Likeluy divide critics and viewers, this is a simpler and less layered film than other works from Egoyan, who seems unable to infuse the pyschological thriller with his characteristic humor and irony.
