Steve D Painfully overdone with terrible music. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review ashley h Fiesta is a decent film. It is about a matador who leaves town to focus on his music and his twin sister takes his place. Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban give good performances. The script is a little slow in places. Richard Thorpe did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of drama and romance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie my favorite Esther Williams movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/22 Full Review Audience Member Another in the Esther Williams catalog. Fiesta is Ricardo Montalban's film debut! Esther and Ricardo portray Maria and Mario, the twin children of a famous matador. Maria wants to bullfight, Mario is expected to, but his passion is music. Maria masquerading as Mario fights in the arena. Eventually her father figures it all out and Mario follows his passion for music. The movie also features Cyd Charisse and the song La Bamba, later famously associated with Ritchie Valens. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Obviously, this was a vehicle for Ricardo Montalban, who is excellent. Williams, who looks beautiful and as always makes the most of every scene she is in, barely has a supporting role, Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Esther Williams only swims a little in this matador themed musical. The great Ricardo Montalban is a talented musician who is pushed into the bull ring by his father, but his twin sister, Williams, is the one who is the real bullfighting talent. It's nothing all that memorable, but you do get the great Cyd Charisse in a small role. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
