Audience Member If there's one thing that you can say about Hollywood After Dark (AKA Walk the Angry Beach, AKA The Unholy Choice) it's that it's definitely boring. The biggest draw to it is, of course, seeing a young Rue McClanahan in such a poor sexploitation type of movie. I think that the movie was supposed to be a fall from grace story, but it never really accomplishes that and one scene moves to the other without having very much to do with anything that comes before or after it. There's the dancing and near-nudity too, but there's absolutely nothing enticing about it. The dialogue is also pretty atrocious, and laugh-inducing in several scenes. It should come as no surprise that the guys from The Film Crew used this is a basis for an episode. They gave it quite a few laughs, and I'd say that it's probably the best way to watch this trash. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny, no less from the crew of Rifftrax and the final seasons of MST3K. It's a pretty bad movie and the riffing is solid. The host segments are also pretty funny. Great for any MST fan. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member The Film crew, all I have to say is that I've been waiting a long, long time to have the boys from MST3K back and doing something together. The talent and laughs they provided over the years was missed and it was great to hear that they had decided to carry on what MST3K had started with The Film Crew. Hollywood After Dark was the first film that they did and I gotta say it was a perfect choice. Horribly bad, bad, bad film. And the boys did it justice for sure with there off beat blend of humour and impecable timing with the jokes. Although there were times like it felt that they were still getting back into the swing of things and that we haven't seen the best from them yet. Overall it was like visiting with friends that you hadn't seen for awhile. It was great to get back in touch and share the laughs again. Hopefully they will continue on with the Film Crew Movies and keep providing us with the laughs! I know that I am looking forward to the installments as they come out for sure. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing reunion of part of the MST 3000 team has Mike Nelson, Kevin "Tom Servo" Murphy and Bill "Later Seasons Crow" Corbett act as a aging team that is assigned to create a commentary track for an awful stripper-crime movie called "Hollywood After Dark" (which has very little to do with Hollywood or Dark). While they do have some funny lines in the commentary, this illustrates how really clever MST 3000 was with their wrap arounds and premis. One really misses the bots here. The bots of course never grow old, while people do and at times seeing the boys is uncomfortably reminiscent of watching later "3 Stooges" shorts. You love 'em for who they were rather than what they are. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member even with riffing , this movie will make you want to go to a fetal position of ick. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member haha loved it. Mike Nelson is my hero!! the only downside was seeing Rue Mcclanahan of golden girls fame shaking her money maker as a stripper. I learned that apparently all stripping from the early 60's was done to tribal beats with women convolsing. talk about turn on!!! if you love horrible B movies that should have never been made with a commentary track from one of the funniest guys ever then this is your movie.
