Critics Consensus

Though not as raunchy or juvenile as the average teen comedy, Fired Up is also not as funny.

Christine Champ Film.com All spunk and no spark make for a mediocre movie. Rated: C May 6, 2011 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard This is not made for anyone with more than a sprinkling of intelligence. Rated: 1/5 Jul 10, 2009 Full Review Sam Toy Empire Magazine A charmless, witless, lumbering mess. Almost nothing could redeem this lame comedy. Rated: 1/5 Jul 10, 2009 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...has an easy charm to the sunny escapades shown here; it’s rare for a sex comedy to treat the macho posturings of the boys with disrespect, and Will Gluck’s film actually has more respect for women that the genre normally allows.... Rated: 3/5 Feb 12, 2024 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Boasts a remarkable amount of clever and inventive sexual metaphors, and a few eccentric characters that mask the lackluster, stereotypical illustrations. r96 s So very dumb, yet kinda, actually, good... one to file under 'better than it has any right to be'. I'm not entirely sure how, but 'Fired Up!' suffices. Nicholas D'Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen make it work enough, they have decent chemistry and fit their respective roles - and that was needed, different casting and events would've flopped. The humour is silly yet mildly amusing, don't get me wrong I wasn't laughing or even chuckling but I wasn't cringed out for the most part and I smirked a few times to be fair. There are some solid music choices in there, tracks from the likes of Akon and Avril Lavigne somehow fit. I was expecting the story to a play out a little differently (worse), it actually portrays the development of the two main characters fairly well. It is quite funny how many of these 00s movies exist that involve the same sorta plot, almost a signature of the era. I decided to watch this as I noticed it was the only one of Will Gluck's movies that I had yet to see. 'Annie' aside, he is a very reliable director. 'Friends with Benefits' is his best thus far, I'd say. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review S K The only reason this is rated a 52% is bc 48% of ppl didn't get the joke (and satire). Absolutely hilarious. If I could rate it 6 stars I would. I legit pissed my pants the whole time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/07/23 Full Review Nick T I love reading the reviews of this movie. There are the people who get that this movie is satirizing teen movies and high school stereotypes and the people who thought this was trying to be American Pie but failed. This movie is incredibly funny... If you get it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review Stephen C Why the f**k should watch this sh*t?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Nick Funny, witty, probably more guy humour though. Still a feel good movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/17/22 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorite movies. Eric Christian Olsen is comedy gold. I have watched this over 100 times Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
