Audience Member To me, this is one of the most amazing firefighter movies of the 1970s and also a good film with extremely important morals about how all men and women are created equal. I really enjoyed the performances and seeing the firefighters in action. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member A TV movie about the first African-American firefighter in a firehouse in NYC, and the ensuing drama when an arsonist goes on a spree in the city with these tensions already high. Worth a rental, but don't be shocked if you find a copy with a picture of Fred Williamson on the cover instead of Richard Roundtree, because the image is all over the Interwebs for some reason. Rental! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Although the subject matter is a bit dated, in 1973 it wasn?t. It has a very good cast. It is a bit exaggerated for dramatic effect. It also has the television made look that is unappealing. Even though it is predictable, it is a good story and for some reason I liked it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I probably should have liked this movie a lot less, but when its Shaft playing a fireman in a 1970s movie I got for $3 at my local Hasty Market, its hard not to like it on some level. Nothing much really happens and they could have done way more with the premise, but its enjoyable in a TV movie kind of way. Probably because it plays exactly like one, even with occasional ad breaks. EDIT: It was in fact a TV movie. Isnt it nice how everything works out in the end? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member If this movie isn't the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen, it's at best in the bottom 5. Absolutely horrible.
