Scotty R This boring cartoon is based off of a book series that was very good. I'd say the ONLY redeeming factor is the amazing concept but that doesn't even belong to this film maker so there is NOTHING good, at all, to say about this production. The writing is basic & unimaginative. I guess the animation should be given some kudos, especially the time it took to finish, so to the animation team.. WELL DONE. Although it's not easy on the eyes & is definitely not a "timeless" classic. The worst part of all was the voice acting. It's both the director's and the writer's job to guide their actors into understanding exactly who the characters are that they're portraying, what their character sounds like & which emotions to display in each scene. All the performances were FLAT. Maybe that was their intention, which would be funny for about 15 seconds but unfortunately this dragged on the entire time. I FORCED myself to endure through this cartoon, hoping.. no PRAYING that at some point this agonizing story telling would bare anything resembling art or entertainment. I do NOT recommend this for anyone to watch, not even for a police interrogator as torture to get their perp to talk. It would be inhumane. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Carson T this film looks ugly as hell Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review Ethan H "Flatland" is a unique and thought-provoking movie that takes the viewer on a journey through a two-dimensional world. Based on the classic novel by Edwin A. Abbott, the film explores the concept of dimensionality and the limitations of perception. The movie follows the story of A. Square, a two-dimensional creature living in a world of flat shapes and lines. He is introduced to the concept of a third dimension by a visiting sphere, but his society refuses to believe in the existence of anything beyond their flat world. A. Square's journey to understand the higher dimensions leads him to question his own beliefs and the rigid social structures that govern his world. The animation in "Flatland" is stunning and brings the two-dimensional world to life in a way that is both captivating and immersive. The voice acting is also superb, with Martin Sheen delivering a standout performance as the voice of the sphere. The movie is not only visually stunning but also intellectually stimulating. It raises questions about the nature of reality and the limitations of perception. It also serves as a commentary on social structures and the dangers of rigid conformity. Overall, "Flatland" is a must-see movie for anyone interested in science fiction, philosophy, or animation. It is a unique and engaging film that challenges the viewer to think outside the box and reconsider their own perceptions of the world around them. It's only a humble yacht, but it'll do. Anyhoo, please do yourself the favor of watching this influential piece of cinema as soon as possible. I can safely say my life is forever changed after watching this film. Me and my family now watch it every night. Thank you Flatland, thank you.
