Audience Member Borderline nunsploitation historical drama that was far better in terms of story, acting and production values than I would have expected. Sure, there's some nudity thrown in to keep things interesting, and the violence can get pretty bloody at times, but in the main it's about a medieval feminist, the power of the church, and the use of religion in general as grounds for men to kill one another. Interesting enough to warrant a viewing. Based, probably quite loosely, on real events but by no means a documentary. Florinda Bolkan turns in a strong and icy performance in the lead role. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member one of the best nunsploitation movies. . Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Not really sure why this was made - supposedly based on historical events but really the need for all the random sex and nudity - not really - not well filmed, acted or dubbed - just a bad film Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Italian Nunsploitation drama set in Medieval Southern Italy during the Islamic invasion. A little unfair to label this a nunsploitation film to be honest, it's better than that and is quite well made. Of course there's a bit of sex, nudity and torture but it's relevant to the story which is allegedly based on true events. The actress that plays the rebel nun is quite good and the film has an authentic look. It's not great, a little slow at times, but worth a look. Be warned - there's a horse castration scene! Painful! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member There's a lot more to this than a bunch of nunsploitation - women crawling into butcher's carcasses, for example - but it's a fine bit of nunsploitation too. Very good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Very very very strange. This must be an art movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
