Norma Very good; sweet, funny, sad & honest Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Laura L It's an original story idea of a dog, Fluke, who was once a loving husband and father who suddenly died in a car crash. It's a touching story with a dog that's awesome for family and kids. The message of the movie is to appreciate the time with have with our loved ones. Fluke is a great actor! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite what critics say I watched this movie as a child and it is one of the memorable movies from my childhood.(And I watched a LOT of movies since then) After all this time I remembered it and when I saw the tomato rating for this movie I was dumbfounded...Was it really that bad? So I watched it again... And NOO!!! This movie is awesome in my books. At the end of the movie it always make the viewer think "Do I spend enough time with my family? Do I cherish my life?" So if this message is delivered to you HOW CAN IT BE BAD? This movie is not about the dog or the man...It's about family and people you love. May be the negative reviews are due to general western religious disbeliefs about resurrection but that does not mean the movie is bad...It underperformed back then due to negative reviews from critics. But since then the general population who saw the movie accepted it and now the audience score is rising. HOW WRONG THE CRITICS WERE!!!! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review andy h Fluke is a surprisingly engaging, Buddhist, nostalgic piece of how one can one to terms with one's life and time on earth. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Fluke is one of my favorite movies. It might be because I watched it so much when I was younger. But even rewatching it today. I love it. Lisa Schwarzbaum Entertainment Weekly Rated: D Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Emanuel Levy Variety This strange family fare, about a dog that was once a man, tries unsuccessfully to combine the expected magic of animal adventures with some more serious ideas. Rated: C Jun 25, 2007 Full Review Mike Clark USA Today As if banal platitudes about work-vs. -family aren't insufferable enough, there's a kicker gag involving Jackson that'll even have Mister Rogers begging for Pulp Fiction II. Rated: 1/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Jae-Ha Kim Jae-Ha Kim "Fluke" gives new meaning to the phrase "men are dogs." In this cute new adventure film, Fluke is the canine reincarnation of a man who died in a freak auto accident. Rated: 2/4 Jul 26, 2023 Full Review Mal Vincent The Virginian-Pilot There are some interesting twists at the film's conclusion, but by then, the heaviness and quirkiness of it all may have diluted most of the fun.
