Texan Ben Hogan (Glenn Ford) works as a golf caddy to stay close to the game he loves. However, his beautiful and supportive wife, Valerie (Anne Baxter), urges him to pursue his long-held dream of becoming a professional golfer. Through diligence and tenacity, Hogan reaches the top ranks of pro golfing -- only to be horribly mangled in a car accident. But thanks to the love and support of his fans, Hogan ultimately recovers and happily resumes his legendary career.
