So, when he finds out his name is being used to bring people into a mission in the poorer part of town, Harold sets out to get his moniker removed from the project. Instead, he meets the priest's daughter, Hope (Jobyna Ralston), and is smitten. That Hope is from the wrong side of the tracks doesn't dissuade Harold from pursuing her. Robert E. Sherwood McCall's In every moment of the picture, Mr. Lloyd is either preparing, developing or completing a gag, and I can't remember one of them that falls short of its desired objective: loud, uproarious laughter. Dec 14, 2021 Full Review Pamela Hutchinson Silent London Bucketfuls of belly laughs to be had, and I nearly gagged when Lloyd munched on a powder puff soaked in cologne believing it to be a cake baked by his sweetie. Audience Member The best comedy movie ever made! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Another fun filled gag comedy from Harold Lloyd, perhaps one of his more disposable features but it has great pace with non-stop laughs and madcap stunts. As with all of Lloyd's features, it is definitely worth your time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Lloyd plays a rich spoiled young man who accidentally gives a man to set up a church mission in the middle of the poor part of the city. Of course chaos ensues when he tries to 'clear his name' from being affiliated with something 'good' for the people, and ends up falling in love with the minister's daughter. Chases galore, dangerous stunts, and the Lloyd trademark hilarity. What's not to like? It's way too short perhaps. But it's actually the opposite: Lloyd originally planned "For Heaven's Sake" as a 3-reel short film, but when they edited a full version and showed it to a preview audience, there were no dull spots and couldn't cut anything out to make it short enough. So if you think of it as an extended short film, then it's a long one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member another winner from lloyd Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A very clever, inventive silent romantic comedy! So many of the gags are impeccably timed. Harold Lloyd was often referred to as speedy this film u can see why. The final scene at the end with the Double Decker bus was extraordinary the stunts they achieved where sensational. It all looks so natural but everything was planned so strategically. If you want to be exposed to silent cinema these comedies are they way to go!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A hilarious, slapstick, silent film version of Guys and Dolls. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
