For Streisand's sake. This picture seems to have been made between pictures to keep Barbra working. Go to Full Review

Ed . Aug 29 It's about second chances and 70s romances. When a movie is half as funny as What's Up, Doc? then it's quite a good comedy. Barbra can't stick to one job, and very kind New Yorkers give her opportunity after opportunity to make good. The scenes lit up by Molly Picon are the highlight of this film. For Pete's Sake could be an Afternoon Special teaching the values of responsible borrowing, honoring financial commitments and perseverance when encountering roadblocks in life. Fans of What's Up, Doc? will appreciate the frenzied cattle chase at the end of this movie. See more 09/22/2024 This film has charm. Funny enough to hold interest 'till the end. I wish Estelle's part was bigger. See more 02/03/2022 Henrietta and Pete Robbins (Barbra Streisand and Michael Sarrazin) are a struggling couple who have to deal with the insults of their sister-in-law Helen, who tells them that an early marriage took away Pete's chance at success. Yet when Pete gets an insider trading tip — this type of thing was somehow perfectly legal in 1974 — she borrows three grand from a Mafia loan shark and finds herself unable to quickly pay them back, which means that she's sold to Mrs. Cherry and rented out as a call girl, but she fails again and again to satisfy any of her clients and starts adding up even more debt. It was written by Stanley Shapiro (How to Save a Marriage and Ruin Your Life, Pillow Talk) and Maurice Richli (The Pink Panther) and directed by Peter Yates, whose career has movies like Breaking Away and Mother, Jugs and Speed as well as Bullitt, The Deep, The Dresser and Krull. It's a light farce and while Streisand didn't like the movie, it was a success. See more 08/24/2016 Cute but forgettable Streisand flick. See more 12/05/2015 I never saw it. but whatevs. go BABZ!!!!
